Cryotherapy For Skin Tags – Freeze Off Your Bad Skin!

Cryo, coming from the Greek “crystallos” meaning “icy cold” is a prefix that means just what it sounds. The term “cryotherapy” is when icy cold substances are used to destroy abnormal growths on the body’s dermal layers. It’s a little wordy, but that just means that it’s a way to get rid of ugly tags, moles, warts etc. using the power of cold to kill them, just like you’d kill mites or ants with ice or cold products. Basically cryotherapy is one of the ways you can get rid of skin lesions and tags without having to worry about high price surgeries or cutting them off yourself.

The basic procedure is simple. After you are looked over by a qualified dermatologist and he agrees to perform the procedure, you will probably be fit into the schedule the same week. Sound too good to be true? Well it isn’t, and you can find some really great doctors out there to perform the procedure in almost every area around the United States and world.

Cryotherapy for skin tags requires that the doctor uses a very cold substance- like liquid nitrogen, argon, or sometimes dry ice- to destroy the cells of the skin tag and make it incapable of growing. There are two main ways that the doctor will do this. Either he will inject the cryogen (the cold substance) directly into the skin tag(s) using a needle like one would expect for a flu shot, or the doctor will coat the skin tags with cryogen using a different instrument. Either way it’s painless and thus no anesthesia is required.

After your bad skin has been injected/coated with the cryogen, all that is left to do is wait for it to die off! It’s just that simple! If you’ve thought of using cryotherapy for skin tags, then you’re probably excited to know that it’s painless, fast, and can be performed safely. However, keep in mind that a trained physician will need to apply the cryotherapy or cryosurgery. This isn’t as expensive as getting a dermatologist to surgically remove the tissues of a tag, but it is still fairly costly. Another downside is that the procedure can only cover skin lesions in certain areas without risking harming normal skin.

Methods to remove skin tags, moles, and warts are few and far between. Using cryotherapy for skin tags, moles, warts and other skin abnormalities is definitely one of the better ways if you’re squeamish and don’t like the idea of slicing them off yourself. However you should weigh up the pros and cons of the procedure before making a decision to use cryotherapy for skin tags, moles, and warts removal.

The Use of Benzoyl Peroxide for Acne Treatment

What is Benzoyl Peroxide?

Benzoyl Peroxide is a white powder with a chemical formula of (C6H5CO)O2. The chemical is known by many other names, with the more common ones including:

Benzoic acid

Benzol Peroxide

Benzaknen

Desanden

Benzoyl Superoxide

Benzoyl Peroxide has been used for treating acne for over 50 years. A very large percentage of both over the counter and prescription based topical acne treatments contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. The concentrations vary, but are usually found to be in the range of between two and a half and ten percent. This is a clear indication that Benzoyl Peroxide is widely accepted as an effective treatment for acne vulgaris.

This acceptance is backed up by scientific research which has been used to demonstrate that topical treatments with concentrations of up to 10 percent benzoyl peroxide are effective in the reduction or removal of acne lesions. The normal timescale for this topical acne treatment to work is between three to twelve weeks.

A topical acne treatment is a treatment that is applied directly to the affected area, using a cream, gel or wash, rather than being taken internally or injected.

Increased concentrations of benzoyl peroxide, whilst reducing or curing acne do also however; appear to raise the likelihood of some adverse reactions, such as skin dryness or redness and occasional peeling or flaking of the skin.

There is a some evidence that the frequent use of Benzoyl Peroxide at concentrations of two and a half percent are effective at treating acne but reduce the likelihood of an adverse skin reaction to the chemical. In addition, a number of studies have shown that just using benzoyl peroxide to treat acne may not be the most effective use. Use of a combination treatment containing benzoyl peroxide and other active ingredients may actually increase its effectiveness in reducing or curing acne lesions.

How does Benzoyl Peroxide help to cure acne?

Benzoyl peroxide helps to cure acne by breaking down dead cells on the surface of the skin. This helps to unblock the sebaceous glands. This in turn, allows the sebum that the sebaceous glands secrete, to escape, rather than become trapped in the pores. Benzoyl peroxide also helps to kill the bacteria that feed on the sebum and cause the blockages in the first place, thus it helps with all the areas that can cause or exacerbate acne.

In conclusion, Benzoyl Peroxide is a widely used and effective topical treatment for acne vulgaris. It works as the single active ingredient, but is frequently combined with other active ingredients to provide more effective acne treatments, both over the counter and via prescription.

So your think your healthy eating those Honey Nut Cheerios right? Well that may be the case for your heart but that’s not the case for your face. Did you know that cereal can cause some bad acne problems? They even did a study on this a while back and found cereal causes acne, so it’s not just Honey Nut Cheerios. The same thing goes with breads, and I have noticed this big time with breads when I stop eating them. The complex carbs in both breads and cereals and wreck havoc on your skin, im talking your face, back and any where else your prone to acne breakouts. What I mean by this is using soaps like Dove and some of the other popular brands can actually create breakouts for many. I know for me it dries up my skin and leaves my face red and dry. Later that dryness clogs up my pores and leads to pimples, so do not over use the soap. It seems rather ironic I know, but sometimes too much of a god thing can become a bad thing.

The Third Tip

Wear a long sleeve shirt when you sleep at night. This might sound crazy but the grease from your arms will actually create more breakouts for you. I know this because when I started wearing a long sleeve shirt at night I saw a great improvement in my acne within a few days to a week. This tip alone is important; if you do nothing else just make sure you wear a long sleeve shirt.

How to Improve Your Skin Tightness and Firm Up – 3 Tips

If you want to improve skin tightness, you can easily do so without resorting to expensive and risky cosmetic procedures. You can improve skin tightness and firm up your skin naturally and expect even better results.

To be able to improve skin tightness, you need be versatile. There are many things you can actually do to improve skin tightness of your face and your body and you don’t have to spend a lot of money or risk your health either.

Below are three easy to follow tips that can help you improve skin tightness.

1. CLEANSE YOUR BODY

Cleansing your body can mean different things. You can do it by eating a healthy diet, by drinking water, or by washing your body.

A healthy diet helps give your skin the nutrients it needs to repair its self. A healthy diet is also likely to produce less free radicals and more antioxidants. Free radicals attack collagen and elastin in the skin and also cause cell damage and death.

Adequate water ensures that toxins are removed from the body and it helps keep skin well-hydrated and plump. Washing your body with mild soap made from natural ingredients will help remove accumulated dirt. Make sure that the water you use is warm and not hot or cold to ensure that natural oils are not removed from your skin.

2. TONE YOUR BODY

You can improve the tightness of your skin by toning your muscles. You can achieve this through exercise. Exercise does not only tone your muscles, but it also improves circulation so that blood can reach your skin to deliver nutrients and oxygen.

Sweating through exercise also opens up pores to help get rid of toxins in the body. You can also tone your skin by using natural ingredients with astringent properties. These include grapeseed oil and hazelnut oil which helps tighten the skin on the face.

3. USE NATURAL CREAMS ON YOUR BODY

Skin tightening creams are available but you need to be cautious in choosing one because most products contain harsh chemicals which can lead to more wrinkles due to skin damage.

Use creams with natural ingredients that can stimulate collagen and elastin production to improve the tightness of your skin. Look for creams that contain helpful ingredients like avocado oil, haloxyl, shea butter and active manuka honey, just to name a few. Natural skin creams are safer to use and you can expect excellent results.

Say goodbye to sagging skin with these three surefire tips to improve skin tightness.

Skin Bleaching or Whitening Is There a Difference?

There tends to be an element of confusion about the differences between bleaching and whitening the skin. Though both are used for correcting skin pigmentation issues, the reasons for whitening or bleaching the skin may vary depending on the results you aim to achieve. So it is essential that we understand the differences, enabling us to avoid disappointment by obtaining the right product in a sometimes unscrupulous market.

The desire to whiten or bleach the skin has reached mammoth proportions throughout many parts of the world. The underlying issues surrounding skin bleaching or whitening are generally associated with perceptions of beauty and to increase self-confidence. Some users however have not recognised that there is a difference between whitening and bleaching the skin.

A skin whitening product is usually suitable for treating hyperpigmentation issues such as freckles, or dark spots, or it may be used to even the skin tone or brighten the skin. Skin whitening products tend to be milder, than products designed for the complete de-pigmentation of the skin. This is because the bleaching agent designed to transform very dark skin has to be more aggressive to inhibit melanin production which is present in larger quantities in people with darker skin.

The recent controversy surrounding the proliferation of skin bleaching in India and more recently in Thailand, has raised alarm around the safety of products used to lighten or bleach intimate and sensitive areas such as the, armpits, vagina, and the anus. Even in countries like the U.S. and the UK where regulatory agencies exist, harmful creams and soaps are sold illegally.

Because the most harmful bleaching products tend to be inexpensive, and promise to give results fast, they are purchased with little or no regard for the long-term damage they may cause. Some consumers actually refuse to consider purchasing bleaching creams that do not contain hydroquinone.

This has resulted in many doctors reporting high levels of burning and scarring among patients using toxic and inexpensive products containing hydroquinone, mercury or steroids. Toxic substances tend to be found more frequently in bleaching creams as opposed to whitening creams.

Well tested skin bleaching or whitening products rarely cause scarring and burning, so it might be a good idea to identify these products based on the market they are targeted to and your desired results. So consider your choices wisely to avoid disappointment; or worse – damage to your health and skin.

Contact your physician before using any skin whitening or bleaching product.

Why It’s Smart to Use Paraben Free Lotions and Creams

If you’re anything like me, then you probably want to make sure that what you apply to your skin to keep it looking young and healthy doesn’t actually harm it. I mean, what’s the point in using skin care products when all they do it cause more troubles for your skin? Many do not know the dangers of parabens or even what they are, so let’s go over why it’s a good idea to use paraben free lotions and creams on your skin.

Parabens are substances that are used in various skin care products, predominately cheap ones. The primary use of them are as preservatives to extend the shelf life of a product. Basically, it’s only an additive to help skin care companies extend the life of their products so they won’t have to throw out product that goes bad. In a nutshell, they use parabens to make sure they pull in higher profits.

But besides being a cheap preservative, parabens come with many negative side effects. Studies suggest that they can be carcinogenic (or help cause cancer). I know, I don’t understand why they are even allowed in skin care products either.

Besides being carcinogenic, they can mess with natural estrogen levels in the body, a vital hormone (especially for women.) They can even cause skin rashes, irritation, and other allergic reactions. And because it technically a chemical substance, it can even interfere with the body’s endocrine system (which is responsible for tissue function, metabolism, and even mood.)

So let’s way out the pros and cons of parabens so see if paraben free lotions and creams are more logical to use or not, shall we?

The pros for using parabens in skin lotions and creams is that it increases the shelf life of the product and makes skin care companies more money.

As for the cons, they can very well cause cancer, allergic reactions, irritation, and interfere with your endocrine system. Basically, no benefits for the skin can come out of using them.

I think it’s safe to say that paraben free lotions and creams are the way to go. It most likely won’t say ‘paraben-free’ on a lotion or creams label, so you’ll have to check out the ingredient list to see if they have it or not. Look for “methyl,” “propyl,” ethyl,” and “butyl” paraben on the label and get your hand off of the products that contain them before you get yourself cancer! 🙂

If you want paraben free lotions and creams that still contains a preservative to extend the life of the product, get one with natural vitamin E in it. It’s a more expensive ingredient, but it does just as good a job as a preservative.
