Can Self Hypnosis Make You More Beautiful?

Many people are aware that self-hypnosis may be used to change bad habits. But they often ask whether self hypnosis can really be used to actually make you more beautiful and attractive. The answer is a qualified yes! As always, the objective of all hypnosis is to bypass the critical gatekeeper of the mind. That way, most of the improvements in our lives come to us much easier. But real change isn’t limited to habit control. The subconscious is also in charge of bodily systems, including the organs, cells, muscles, hormones and so much more.

Science has verified that the physical body, including things like psychosomatic natural improvement of body appearance, may be changed through self-hypnosis with the powerful tools of hypnotic suggestion. We started with this suggestion: “I grow beautiful and lustrous black hair.” We then had her imagine what it would feel like and look like to have that kind of hair. And though it took her several applications of hypnosis over several weeks to achieve what she wanted, the change was finally apparent to Marta and all the classmates.

Her new hair seemed thicker, stronger and shinier while its texture seemed much improved to everyone around her. (She confirmed that her hair care products and regimen remained the same since we started this informal test.) Like Marta, if there is a particular area of your appearance you would like to beautify, you can use specific self-hypnosis suggestions to make it happen. Men, of course, can benefit just as well as women, with self-suggestions to make themselves look more handsome, vigorous and attractive also.

Self-hypnosis suggestions don’t have to get this specific to get results for you. You can craft suggestions to become more “overall” beautiful, handsome or attractive. That is enough for the subconscious to really begin making noticeable changes in your appearance. For best results, make sure your suggestions include the following:

  • Determine and recognize that your own subconscious mind can make you more attractive
  • Create vivid descriptions of just how it will feel to be more beautiful or handsome
  • Express in words how you will find greater benefit in your life (like attracting someone special)

Like Marta, it may take you time and application to make those hypnosis suggestions produce these exciting benefits. But I’ve seen it happen for my hypnotherapy clients who wanted to lose weight, control their diabetes blood glucose – and improve their appearance too. Just be patient, look for the changes and enjoy the transformation. It costs a lot less than cosmetic surgery, and it’s much more natural and a lot safer too.

Hypnosis can indeed make you more beautiful.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Use a Bowflex?

Image is everything with young people today and many young people want to work out and use equipment like adults, however is it safe? What age do you have to be to use a piece of equipment like the Bowflex?

While there is, little information from the manufacturer on this point the use of a Bowflex is similar to any other weight-training situation. That being said determining what age you can begin using a Bowflex is a matter of common sense.

Children grow continually sometimes until they are 18 years old. This means that bone, tissue and muscle configurations are constantly changing. You should keep this in mind when determining if your child is old enough to begin strength training.

The American Academy of Pediatrics supports children participating in appropriately designed and supervised training programs, even those which incorporate the use of machinery such as a Bowflex. Light strength training is good at any age. This is especially true if a young child is involved in other sports such as little league or gymnastics.

The key to using a Bowflex or any other training program with a young person is adequate training on how to use the equipment. Improper use at any age can cause serious injury to muscle, tendons and possibly bones. Therefore, if you are a first time user of the Bowflex you will want to work with the machine for a while before showing a young person the ropes.

Once you are confident with knowledge and use of the Bowflex here are some base guidelines for use with children or young adults.

o Plenty of fluid intake

o Well lit area

o Three days a week maximum

o Beginners should do one set of ten reps for each major muscle beginning with light weight or resistance

o No maximum lifting or resistance

o Training should be a part of a whole fitness program including nutrition

Following these steps and some average common sense, your young person should benefit from strength training with you. It must be noted that you should never begin any type of training without first consulting a physician about the fitness level of you and your child if training together. How old do you have to be to use a Bowflex? Old enough to take proper instruction on the proper use of the machine.

Age Spot Erasing Made Easy And Right From Your Own Kitchen

If you’re anything like most baby boomers, after graying hair, poor eyesight, weight gain and winkles, age spots rank fifth on your list of aging nuisances. But you can find comfort in erasing those age advertisers right from your own kitchen.

What Causes Age Spots

To protect your skin against excessive sun exposure, your skin makes cells called melanocytes. Melanocytes create the dark brown pigment called melanin. The melanin makes your skin look darker or suntanned.

How to Avoid Age Spots Completely

3. Applying sunscreen 20 minutes before going outdoors and reapplying it every two hours.

Additionally, note that the sun and excess chemicals don’t mix. For instance,

most often in middle-aged women, might mistake irregular areas of reddish-brown pigmentation called poikiloderma for age spots.

Poikiloderma results from chronic sun exposure combined with sun-sensitive chemicals in cosmetics or perfume. Hence, poikiloderma most frequently appears on the side of the neck or on the cheeks.

Sunscreen Is More Potent Than You Thought

You may feel annoyed with the repeated advise of slathering yourself with sunscreen, but a study published in the October 14, 1993 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine gives you reason to appreciate your sunscreen an effective age spot eraser.

In the study, researchers found that among sunscreen users, those who rubbed on the most cream with the greatest regularity had the largest reduction in actinic keratoses.

Actinic keratoses (AKs) describe the rough, red, scaly patches, crusts or sores that measure anywhere from one-quarter to one-inch in diameter. Like most other age spots, you’ll find actinic keratoses on body areas most readily exposed to the sun.

Likewise, you’ll find age spot reducing properties in soy products. The protein extracts of soybean and soymilk contain several different estrogen-like substances called isoflavones. One study showed that soy isoflavones might lighten age spots.

Home Remedies

Erasing your age spots can begin right in your own kitchen. In Japan, the rice based drink, sake, serves as an age spot lightener when applied to the skin.

You can also use lemon juice to lighten age spots. What Does Telogen Effluvium (TE) Hair Loss Look Like? I’ll Tell You

Over the weekend, I received an email from a woman who asked me “what, exactly, does TE or telogen effluvium look like?”  I wrote back and asked her for a bit of clarification, but she meant what I thought and assumed that she had meant.  Basically, she wanted to know what the hair of a person with TE will look like and if there is any pattern or appearance to the hair or scalp that would indicate that the shedding or hair loss is due to TE rather than something else.  I will discuss these things in the following article.

How Does Hair That Is Shedding Due To Telogen Effluvium Look?: Sometimes, there are changes in hair texture before the shedding actually starts.  That’s because the effected hair moves into the resting stage and these strands are no longer deeply embedded in the scalp or being properly nourished.  So, the result is flyaway or unruly hair that doesn’t quite lay down flat.

Once the shedding actually starts, you may not notice any changes of volume or any thinning spots at first.  Most people begin with much more hair than they think, so it takes a certain period of shedding before the changes are noticeable to others.  You may see spent or falling hair sort of hanging down at the ends and friends, coworkers, or complete strangers will pluck hair from your clothing (which can be quite embarrassing.) You may also see that your scalp is pink or red because so many follicles are being affected at once. 

After a while, you might start to see some thinning in areas that aren’t quite as thick to begin with like the bangs, temples, or crown.  Now, some people will panic and think that they have AGA or androgenic alopecia, but this isn’t always the case.  Often those areas have less hair to begin with so they are going to thin out more quickly than other areas.  However, generally speaking (although there are very commonly exceptions,) people will TE will generally have overall or diffuse shedding and loss, while people with genetic loss will have patterned loss that is mostly limited to the top, temples, and crown.

Over time, it can be harder and harder to tell the difference between TE and AGA just by looking at the hair and scalp.  Because prolonged shedding is going to thin out your hair even if you’re regrowing quite steadily.  Now, with telogen effluvium, the quality and quantity of your regrowth should not be adversely affected, unless you have some inflammation issues.  So, the regrowth that you do have should be relatively healthy and thick.  However, because something is making your hair continue to cycle through the resting phase, your regrowth may not have the impact that you might have hoped because the growth just can not keep up with the loss.

What’s The Deal With The White Bulb? Does The White Bulb Mean That I Definitely Have Telogen Effluvium?: I’m asked the question so often. People really want the reassurance that this shedding might one day stop, so they are very hopeful that the white bulb on the end of the hair is indicative of temporary shedding. The truth is though, that almost all forms of hair loss have the white bulb.  The exception is if you actually pull your hair from your scalp. 

But, hair that has reached the end of it’s life cycle will fall out on it’s on and that bulb is just where it’s not embedded and nourished anymore.  If you pull out one of your hairs right now, you will see a brown sheath around the end. This is still a healthy and growing hair and that’s the difference.  That hair did not meet a natural end.  But, your hair doesn’t know why it is being forced into the resting phase.  It just knows that it’s in this phase and it responds accordingly.

Now, if the bulb is sort of yellow and is large, that well may be sebum build up which, depending on how often you wash your hair, may be indicative of androgens adversely affecting and clogging your hair and scalp. It’s pretty easy to tell the difference though because the sebum build up looks more like a plug and is much larger than the white end that most of us see.

If you are a regular in the fitness industry, chances are you have heard of high-intensity interval training. This type of training is said to give optimal fat loss results and can help to boost your fitness level faster than any other method of training as well.

But now, there is a new method of training that is catching on: variable intensity interval training. What is this training about and how can it benefit you?

1. What Is Variable Intensity Interval Training? This type of training is a combination approach where you will do some high-intensity interval exercise coupled with moderate intensity interval training, which is usually a strength-based focus, along with low-intensity training during the rest periods, which will include yoga based movements or stretch.

Putting these all together, you get a workout that is always changing and is varying its overall level of intensity.

2. The Benefits Of Variable Intensity Interval Training. So what does this mean for you? How will it help?

First, it is a great option for beginners. Since you are not doing quite as much high-intensity training here, it is easier for you to get started as a beginner. By mixing it up with the moderate and low-intensity training, this makes it more feasible.

Second, it also adds a more balanced approach to your fitness routine. You will be doing not only cardio-focused activities but in addition to weight lifting, focused workouts as well. 3. Adding This To Your Training Routine. How do you go about adding this exercise routine to your week? Since these are total body sessions, you can theoretically do just this one workout, three times a week, and be done with it.

The choice is yours. Do it with your other training if you wish but do make sure you have one day off between sessions to allow for recovery to take place.

Do not overlook variable interval training any longer. It can be an excellent method of increasing your fitness and creating a healthy balance in your workout routine.

Peptic Ulcer – 10 Ways To Manage It

Different types of drugs are employed in the management of peptic ulcer. The different groups of drugs each play a specific role in the healing of the ulcer or in helping to reduce the secretion of gastric juices. Diet control and surgery can also be involved depending on the type and stage of the ulcer. Some of the drugs for the management of peptic ulcer include:

1. Anbiotics: With recent knowledge that peptic ulcer is caused by a bacterium, antibiotics treatment is now being employed to get rid of the offending organism. In most cases there is the use of a combination of two different antibiotics which ensure the organism is completely destroyed.

2. Antacids: Antacids are used for the symptomatic relief of peptic ulcer pains. They help to neutralize the gastric acid and also inactivate pepsin. When given for a fairly long period they aid healing. One basic problem they have is that they may interfere with the absorption of other drugs employed in the treatment of the ulcer. It is therefore advisable to take antacids about 1hr before taking other medications or 2hrs after. Examples of antacids include: Magnesium hydroxide (Philip’s milk of magnesia); Magnesium hydroxide and Aluminium hydroxide (Gestid, Maalox and Mylanta); Aluminium hydroxide (Amphogel and Alternagel); Sodium bicarbonate and Calcium carbonate (Rolaids, Titralac, etc)

3. Histamine H2-receptor antagonists: They block histamine receptor thereby minimizing gastric secretions. Examples of these drugs are Cimetidine (Tagament), Ranitidine (Zantac), Nizatidine (Axid), Famotidine (Pepcid) etc

4. Proton-pump inhibitors: helps to decrease gastric acid production and as such limit the damage done by the gastric acid on the gastric mucosal lining. Examples of this drug include Omeprazole (Prilosec), Rabeprazole (Aciphex), Esomeprazole (Nexium), Pantoprazole (Protonix) and Lansoprazole (Prevacid).

5. Sedatives: May help to reduce stress and tension which are known to increase gastric secretion. These drugs include Diazepam and Phenobarbitone. They may be given in large doses at bed time.

6. Anticholinergics: They inhibit the action of acetylcholine thereby helping to reduce gastric acid secretion and also reduce pain. They may produce nasty side effects such as decreased visual acuity, difficulty in urinating and dryness of the mouth. Example of such drug is Pro-Banthine.

7. Sucralfate (Carafate): This drug helps to make a protective coating over the crater created by the ulcer thereby preventing further damage to the affected area.

8. Surgery: Surgery may be advocated if the use of drugs fail to control the acid secretion. Surgery could also be carried out when there is severe bleeding or perforation. Some of the surgical treatments include Vagotomy and Gastric resection (subtotal gastrectomy). Gastrectomy involves removal of the ulcer bearing part of the stomach, while vagotomy is to select the branches of the vagus nerve supplying the stomach and resect it to reduce gastric secretion and decrease gastric motility.

9. Patient education: Patient should be properly educated as to the cause of the disease, complications and their prevention; the need to adhere to the diet and drug therapy and the need to report signs of complication to the doctor. Patient should also be told to avoid NSAIDS, corticosteroids, alcohol, cigarette, caffeine, etc

10. Other methods of management may include the use of herbs, homeopathy and chiropractic.
