Simply apply it before bedtime and leave on overnight; wash your hair in the morning and you will find your hair will grow much faster. The best way to use it is to apply the oil. Then take a hot damp towel and wrap your hair up in it for another 10 minutes; repeat this process at least twice before shampooing. If you own a steamer use that instead on low heat for 5 minutes before shampooing.

These are the twelve simple way to induce faster hair growth. You will see results in as little as two weeks. Remember to be consistent and patient with it.

To Eat or Not to Eat: Best & Worst Workout Foods

You’re an hour away from your workout and you know you need to eat up. What do you do? Will you raid your fridge? Go to the nearest fast food chain and search for their healthiest foods? What do you eat in the first place? First, calm down. Second, think about your options-what you should eat and what you should avoid. Check out these best and worst workout foods.

Worst workout foods… and drinks

Pasta, white rice and potatoes. It’s true you need carbs to give you energy. But these type of carbs, besides being packed with calories, will pass through your system in a flash.

Soda. Regular or diet, drinking soda before a workout is just a no-no. Regular sodas are packed with sugar and calories. The carbonation can make you bloated, which may lead to an upset stomach. The diet kind may not have sugar or calories but is still carbonated. Although most people would argue that a caffeine boost would help during a workout, you should opt for a better alternative, like green tea or even a small cup of brewed coffee without the cream and sugar.

Spicy foods. Yes, spicy foods can help speed up metabolism. But eating it before a workout may give you heartburn.

Fast food. This may seem obvious to most people, but others still grab a fast food meal before they go to the gym. Their reason? They’ll burn the extra calories anyway. However, fast food with its high-fat and calorie content can make you sluggish. Also, you’ll miss out on actual weight loss when you’re just burning fast food calories in the gym.

Energy drinks. It seems to make sense, too. You need energy for a workout so you gulp an energy drink. But most energy drinks are packed with sugar, caffeine and carbonation. You may end up crashing, bloated or with acid reflux mid-workout.

Best Workout Foods and Drinks

Oatmeal with fruits. Oatmeal, like whole grains, is the type of carbohydrates which is best for workouts. With its high fiber content, energy (in the form of sugar) can be constantly released in your bloodstream throughout the workout. The fruits give you an extra dose of nutrients.

Omelet. Eggs give you a protein boost and they are light on the tummy. When making an omelet, mix whole eggs plus extra whites for more protein.

Turkey. Speaking of protein, turkey is a great source without worrying about the fat. If your workout is more intense than usual, turkey is your best bet. Chicken breast, without the skin, can serve as an alternative. Grill an olive oil-drizzled turkey or chicken breast. Throw in some veggies like carrots and zucchini in the grill and you’ll have a great pre-workout meal. Since this is considered as a heavy meal, you can eat it two hours before a workout.

Veggie sticks and almond butter. Athletes love almonds because they are packed with fiber, vitamins and other nutrients. Almond butter has minimal fat, sodium and sugar compared to peanut butter. Celery or carrot sticks with almond butter is not only nutritious, but can provide a steady supply of energy for a light workout.

Greek yoghurt with fruits. Greek yoghurt is like ‘super yoghurt’. It has less calories than regular yoghurt but twice the protein, lower fat, half the sodium and an incredibly high amount of calcium. Add some berries, a banana and you’ll have a meal which can power you through light to moderate workouts. You can also make a Greek yoghurt smoothie.

Water. This won’t come as no surprise because water is the best drink in the planet. Drink two cups an hour before a workout so you won’t be concerned about going to the bathroom too often and disrupting your workout.

Although what you put in your body before a workout is definitely important, don’t forget what you should wear outside. Great workout shoes will help enhance your performance and protect your feet. You can browse a trusted online for shoes as well as workout clothes. If you’re worried about your budget, don’t fret. Online shops, like offer prices which are lower than the retail price. You can even get 25 percent off on your first purchase and free delivery. So you will really be ready for your workout.

Are You Getting Panic Attacks Because of Hysterectomy?

Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure used for removing the uterus and is typically performed by a gynecologist. The operation can be “total” or “partial”. Total hysterectomy involves removal of the body and cervix of the uterus while partial hysterectomy involves removal of only a part. There are a number of cases in which oophorectomy (removal of ovaries) is carried out along with hysterectomy. In such cases, the surgery is referred to as TAH-BSO (Total Abdominal Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingo-Ooporectomy). The important thing to note here is that hysterectomy is often improperly used to represent any instance of removal of any part of the female reproductive system. Hysterectomy panic attacks are quite common following the surgery.

Hysterectomy panic attacks are often the cause of hot flashes. Menopause is widely known as the primary causative agent behind hot flashes. It is estimated that more than 80% of all American females experience night sweats and hot flashes during this time. Though there are many hormonal fluctuations that take place in the female body during menopause the precise cause of it happening is not known. Hysterectomy panic attacks in the form of hot flashes can last from just a couple of seconds to several long minutes. In rare cases, they have been known to last for as much as a whole hour.

Hysterectomy panic attacks are quite common and this is understandable when you consider two factors. The first is that most surgeries are traumatic and the second is that hysterectomy often causes a slew of symptoms that are not indicative of panic attacks. Combined, the two form solid grounds that serve as invitations to hysterectomy panic attacks. Dizziness is one of the most prominent symptoms after hysterectomy. This causes anxiety in the recovering patient because the sensation of things spinning out of control is too much to take and the resulting anxiety quite frequently explodes into hysterectomy panic attacks. The problem of dizziness is made severe by another side effect of hysterectomy, tinnitus. This condition is related to the ears and it results in many aural sensations that are falsely reported to the human brain. Think of it as hearing things that are made up entirely in your head but have no sound and are not perceptible to other human beings. For example the whooshing of air, a constant high pitched sound, or even chirping in some cases (as that of crickets), are all sounds that when continued over long stretches of time will tend to disorient or annoy the patient.

Hysterectomy panic attacks are actually reported to be fewer among women who had symptoms of depression or anxiety before the operation. Why this happens is not known, but it is quite evident that surgery affects normal women more than women who have already incurred the symptoms. A certain amount of anxiety is only natural when anyone is considering going through even with the most harmless of surgeries. Hysterectomy panic attacks are a compound result of this anxiety, the natural tendency of the patient to worry needlessly, personal attitude towards things in general, as well as the ability to adapt to new and uncertain conditions, especially in circumstances of duress.

Taking Care of Your African American or Biracial Child’s Hair: Tips for Healthy Curls

Rule #1: Wash your baby’s scalp with an all natural shampoo, you can either make your own or purchase one. This best all natural shampoo that can be used on African American children hair is Beauty 4 Ashes Hair Puritea Red Tea Honeybee Shampoo. This shampoo is extremely mild, made from Aloe Vera, Red Tea (a hair strengthener and smoother), and Honey. It is excellent for moisturizing the scalp and hair and infusing it with antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids. You can find it at wwwdiscoverb4acom. You can also make your baby a shampoo at home. Simply mix ¼ cup of distilled water with ¼ cup of herbal green tea. Add honey and lemon juice for added shine and moisture. This will cleanse and strengthen your baby’s hair, although it will not produce lather.

Rule #2: Apply a small amount of oil to your baby’s scalp two times daily. This will moisturize the hair, help a thirsty scalp, and create an environment optimal for African American hair growth. Great oils to use are Beauty 4 Ashes Follicle Fuze Shea & Jojoba Oil. Jojoba oil is particularly excellent in preventing dry scalp and not producing an oily head or face. You can find it at wwwdiscoverb4acom. You can also use olive oil, although not as moisturizing, it can be found in many stores.

Rule #3: Avoid bad chemicals on your baby’s hair, these include Vaseline, petroleum, mineral oil, sulfates, and silicones. Be also certain not to apply lotions to your child’s hair that contain parabens. Parabens are proven cancer-causing agents. If you prefer a hair lotion, try Beauty 4 Ashes Puritea Tea-Rific 10 hair lotion. It is 100% natural and includes excellent natural oils for thirsty hair you want to grow, including jojoba, shea, almond, wheat germ, and castor. It will also define your baby’s curls. Also, Carol’s Daughter’s hair milk is an excellent moisturizer. Light and silky, it will soften your baby’s curls. You can find Puritea Lotion at wwwdiscoverb4acom. Carol’s Daughter hair milk can be found at wwwsephoracom.

Rule #4: Protect your baby’s hair with proper styling. If at all possible, leave your child’s hair as natural as possible. African American hair is already fragile, excessive heat and styling methods that pull the hair (i.e. ponytails) may only make your child’s hair more susceptible to breakage. Don’t pull your child’s hair too tightly and do not use cheaply fashioned rubber bands on your child’s hair. They can snag and pull, causing splitting and breakage. Do not brush your child’s head too harsh. Try using wide tooth combs instead.

Rule #5: Use due diligence to stimulate your baby’s hair growth. Protect your child’s head from damage or breakage during appropriate weather conditions. Babies’ heads need to be protected from all types of weather, especially excessive heat and cold. Also, buy a satin pillowcase for your baby.

Rest assured, your baby’s hair can grow and it will grow if you use the right techniques for their curly, ethnic hair. African American hair needs love and great care. To detangle African American hair even more, and encourage growth and bring out curls, also spray the hair with an even mixture of water and olive oil or grapeseed oil daily.

Yoga Bandhas – The Internal Energy Gates

Our daily existence wastes all natural, powerful, instinctive energy, life force, from our bodies. Yoga bandhas or the internal energy gates guide this stream of energy (prana) to the deprived regions (to replenish them) from the regions where prana is blocked up or held back. Bandhas drive the energy towards its focal point from where it is reallocated in a balanced manner to ensure unification and harmony in the body. Bandhas practice involves physical and muscular movement initially, with the passage of time a yoga student will be able to discern underlying mental and energetic models and work on the bandhas with a conscious effort; once mastered, these internal energy gates will remain active all the time, in wakefulness and in sleep. Beginners approach to bandhas is in relation to certain parts of the body, like muscles, glands and organs, while their true worth lies in being admired as the design for the distribution of essential power within the body. Once this channel of energy is organized, it brings into line and stimulates corporeal, emotional, mental and spiritual elements of the body.

Typically three bandhas, tri-bandha, are practiced together. They are:

  • Mula bandha
  • Uddiyana bandha
  • Jalandhara bandha

They are worked on together or one at a particular time through kriya (action), asana (posture), pranayama (breathing), mudra (holy words), dharana (concentration) and dhiyana (meditation) practice. Once these internal gates of energy are activated, equilibrium exists between the Creator and the created, cause of all conflict and imbalance is removed and the life force is fully in line with nature. Children are innately gifted with active bandhas. The recommended order of learning the sequence is to start with bandhas, then asana, then pranayama, and then mudra. Tri-bandha is useful with advanced breathing and mudra chanting for serious seekers of spiritualism and unification with the celestial power.

To complement basic bandhas, there are certain adjunctive bandhas:

  • Jivha bandha

It stops the mind from dithering; energetic and psychic amalgamation with the divine is achieved. Everlasting peace is gained.

  • Ajna bandha

Ajna bandha coordinates the energy and enables it to move inward and upward to reestablish the severed link of love between man and his Creator.

  • Nabhi bandha

Its practice entails an internal energetic method to gather, store and direct energy to other focal points.

  • Swadhi bandha

Swadhi bandha balances and combines the life force in the middle and upper pelvis.

  • Hri bandha

Hri, heart or core, is the region where our feelings reside; our feelings of fear, or insecurity; our inability to express our emotions. We hide ourselves in this area when we cannot deal with our pain or fear; this internal gate of energy, once kindled, recharges the feeling center making us deal with our emotions properly.

Collectively, yoga bandhas stimulate perception and intellect; and stop the aimless wandering of the mind. These internal energy gates streamline the flow of vitality or life force from dispelling outwards and direct it within the body allowing man to attain awareness about self, life, reality and supreme consciousness.

Recommended Nutrition and Diet For a Speed and Agility Training Program

When starting a speed and agility training program many of today’s athletes ignore one of the most important aspects of achieving desired results, and that is diet and nutrition. Too many young athletes tend to eat too much fast food and not pay attention to what they are eating throughout the day.

To get the most out of a speed and agility workout the best place to start when it comes to nutrition and diet is a well balanced meal. All meals throughout the day should contain food from all four food groups. If this is not possible then make sure that throughout the day your diet has contained portions from all four food groups.

To enhance your diet to deal with the sufficiently high physical demands of sports training, which requires a high rate of energy production, you will need to increase your carbohydrate intake. Whatever sport or training you are participating in, this type of energy production can only be achieved by the breakdown of carbohydrates. This means that players should pay particular attention to this aspect of their diet – more especially when considering the notorious drills of speed and agility programs, especially when athletes are given no guidance about what to eat. The heavy training schedule that most speed and agility training involves, only serves to increase the need for carbohydrate intake.

When discussing this subject, it is usual to express the form of the energy consumed as percentages (proportions) eaten as carbohydrate, fat and protein. While the typical diet for the general population is about 40% carbohydrate, 45% fat and 15% protein, the recommended dietary proportions for a soccer player (who training is very strenuous and well rounded) would be roughly 65% carbohydrate, 20% fat and 15% protein, according to Peak Performance Newsletter.

The ingestion of essential amino acids immediately after exercise increases protein synthesis, meaning greater muscle and (provided you’re training ‘properly’) more power. A very important point in protein ingestion is the timing – if you’re taking any protein shakes or bars, take it asap after exercise.

Provided you’re eating a well balanced, energy sufficient diet, creatine supplementation has also been shown to improve repeated sprint ability as previously discussed in the Vitamins and supplement article.

Some information used in this article was gathered from the Peak Performance newsletter.

Corrections Officer Workout Routine – How To Pass The Test

Are you ready for the corrections officer physical fitness test?

If your answer is no, or you are in okay shape but need a little bit more work then keep reading. I’ve included some really simple workout tips in this article that will improve your strength, conditioning, and overall fat to muscle content.

The truth is some recruits have sailed through the correctional officer fitness test, while others have struggled mightily. I know if you are reading this article, you are dead serious about improving your overall fitness level. That’s why I’ve written this article to help those candidates who are serious about getting a passing score on their corrections officer PFT.

You see, the corrections officer fitness test standards are different from agency to agency, but all of them are looking for recruits who are in shape. Seriously you don’t want to show up to the test site out of shape or grossly overweight. Trust me if that happens, you might as well kiss your opportunity goodbye.

Here’s how to get in shape fast:

The number one thing that you want to do when training for the law enforcement fitness test is to follow a workout routine that incorporates both strength training and cardiovascular improvement. If you do one without the other, you won’t pass the test. The best workout program that incorporates both strength development and cardiovascular improvement is interval training.

If you don’t know much about high intensity interval training, I suggest that you study up on this powerful workout program. If you include interval training to your regular training routine, you’ll get into shape faster than you ever thought possible.

Best Bicep Exercises – Blast Your Arms With This Simple Tip

The biceps are the one of the most important muscles in the body. The look of your biceps shows whether your workout plan is really working or not. It is also a factor of masculinity. For the pros, biceps are the parts that are mostly flexed and flaunted in competitions. There are many exercises that can help put the bicep in good shape, but the best bicep exercises get the result faster. Here are a few things to know about the best exercises for your biceps.

They target the whole upper body

If you want to build your biceps, you don’t necessarily have to do exercises that target these muscles directly. In fact, many professionals and coaches will tell you that you don’t need to more than two exercises that target the biceps directly. The best bicep exercises target the whole upper body. Those workout plans that put too much pressure on the biceps end up destroying what they intend to build.

They stimulate the muscles

What the biceps need to grow and be in shape is the right stimulation. Only the most effective exercises for your biceps will provide the needed stimulation.

They produce results in two ways

The best bicep exercise should be able to make the biceps grow in size. The shape of biceps is greatly enhanced by their size. It is very difficult to put small biceps in the desired shape. But size without shape is equally bad. For that matter, good bicep exercises should be able to put the muscles in great shape.

Curls are among the best bicep exercises

If you take your time to read a few articles about how to build biceps, you will realize that the exercises that top the list are curls: dumbbell curls and barbell curls. These are two most important biceps exercises that people who are serious about their biceps cannot avoid. Fortunately, these are exercises that are not difficult to do at all.

They don’t lead to injury

This is very important. It is easy to damage your muscles if you do the wrong exercise. Damaged muscles can take time to heal. That is why you must avoid the very complicated exercises when looking for good bicep exercises. You should be able to tell which effect is tolerable and which is not. You’ve heard of no pain no gain, but if the pain is too much, then the exercise is not good.

Get Rid of Annoying Pimples & Acne (I Know, What a Beautiful Title For This Article!)

Have you ever had a really sore spot on your skin? Almost everyone has a bother at one time or another. Here are some wee tips you might like to try to make your skin all soft and lovely, and most importantly, blemish-free! WooHoo! We’re done with you, stupid blemishes, or, as another particularly angry woman in a very famous play might say, “Out, out, damn spot!” hahaha! Yes, I’m full of great ideas and terrible jokes, but if you have a laugh and find a remedy that really works for you, and then you share that with a friend, won’t the whole world look better?? lol!

I made this discovery a while back, and I can’t believe how well this works. As with anything, try these ideas at your own discretion…

There are so many ‘solutions’ for problem skin (especially Acne) on different shows and in all sorts of articles, but most of them end in ‘see your Dermatologist’, but it’s my guess that the vast majority of people don’t have regular (or any…) access to a Dermatologist, so I think there’s room for my little ideas. Pass the info along if you know someone who might benefit from it!

Go to your drugstore or local pharmacy and walk right past the Skin Care Aisle. That’s right, I said it. Walk on by! Now get rid of any shame you might have, and go to either the Foot Fungus section (for Athlete’s Foot), or to the ever-popular Vaginal Itch section… still with me? Stopped cringing, yet?? Come on, now, this remedy really works! You want to get whatever is the cheapest tube of any product with Clotrimazole Cream, USP 1% or Miconazole Nitrate 2%. For real! I’m telling you, try it this week, and see if you notice a huge difference in your skin. Worth a try, right? I talked with my pharmacist about it, and she laughed and said they’ve known that for years, so just in case I’m not the very last one to find out, too, go ahead and give it a shot. These creams are waaay less expensive than what you will find in the regular skin care aisle, and, in my own opinion, much more effective.

Still here? haha! Once you try it, you won’t think this is so bad, after all… and you might even want to take a stroll over to the Wart section (this is a good time to make sure no one you are even remotely attracted to is watching you! lol!) and see if you can find a ‘Wart Stick’. No kidding. It looks like a chap-stick, but has a really high concentration of Acetylsalicylic acid in it, which is very good for healing skin, but never on any ‘open wound’ (hope you’re not having your lunch while you’re reading this!).

If you are feeling extra-brave, and God has punished you with Skin Tags, for some unknown reason (I’m kidding, just kidding… God’s probably not punishing you… I don’t really know what bad things you might have done last week, I’m just guessing that maybe you’ve had a little extra fun in your life, and now you have these damn skin tags out of nowhere… and you are afraid of getting them lopped off in some sort of surgical procedure, so if this is the case, you could use a small amount of the ‘wax’ in the Wart Stick, placed carefully directly on the skin tag, and just let the thing dissolve away. Oooh, sounds so lovely!

Aspirin: Here’s what to do: put a couple of regular aspirins on a teaspoon, and add a wee drop of water. Set it by the sink for a minute and it’ll dissolve completely. Put on enough of this to cover the Spot, and let it dry. Leave it on all night if it’s a particularly sore spot. If you like, you can mix it with a wee bit of your favourite skin cream, then apply it to the area. You’ll see a remarkable difference in your skin in no time!

I also tried this in a Mask, mixing the dissolved aspirin (any kind — the coating won’t make any difference) with some Liquid Antibacterial Soap. It really tightens up the pores. Take extra care not to get this anywhere near your eyes!

If you feel like it, you can dissolve a whole lot of Aspirin (Bayer dissolves with the smoothest texture…) in a little container (okay, it’s a plumbing part, but only because I happen to have a lot of plumbing parts around the house, on account a’ I’m in Construction!). A small handful of Aspirin — they’re cheap, so use however many you like.

Anyway, I use them as a Regular Face Scrub, now — just scoop some of the Dissolved Aspirin & Water into the palm of your hand and add some Liquid Soap. Removes all the make-up or dirt (male/female…whatever you get on your face!). Again, watch you don’t get this in your eyes and moisurize your skin afterwards. Very refreshing. Make sure you moisturize your skin after any of these little ‘treatments’.

An even easier FaceScrub is with a little bit of Baking Soda, put it in the palm of your hand and add some liquid soap. Use to very gently cleanse your face, but not very often, because you want to stay youthful for as long as possible, so it seems like a Bad Idea to remove facial cells and what-not, too often, right? lol!

I happen to like ‘experimenting’ with different things, so if there’s something else (nothing Internal, of course…!) that you think it might work on, try it. You can always wash it off right away, if you experience any discomfort.

Here’s something else I tried that worked — I put some Hydrogen Peroxide on a little disposable cotton pad, cleaned my face with it like you would use any Facial Toner, and I couldn’t believe the difference that made to my own skin in about 10 days.

Do this every night before bed, and then every morning when you get up (unless you have Dry Skin), and you will be amazed at how great your skin will look and feel. After 30 Days, you’ll see a remarkable difference, then this will be a habit for life! (Oh, and be extremely careful not to go anywhere near your eyes!)

Use Hydrogen Peroxide as a Facial Toner — it’s great! It’ll really clean your skin and refine your pores, which is always good, right? You’ll see an incredible improvement in your skin within 10 days! Just apply it with a little Cotton Pad. Put some Moisturizer on your face after that… I use Lubriderm Hand Lotion because it’s one of the few moisturizers I’m not allergic to…) It’s handy to have in your Medicine Cabinet for any cuts & scrapes, too. You can buy Hydrogen Peroxide at any Department Store or Pharmacy — it costs about 97 cents for a bottle — very cheap for an incredibly useful product!

Cold Sores (or anything in that family…) — apply the Dissolved Aspirin and small amount of Vitamin E, Aloe Vera gel or any over-the-counter Viral fighting gel directly to the spot. You’ll be shocked at how quickly it goes away.

My favorite new product is this Clear Aloe Vera Gel — I think you can get it at the pharmacy. This stuff is amazing for your skin… I initially got it for a sunburn (because I was reading at the pool and got an annoying burn… you’d think I’d know better by now, right? haha!)

I have the worst time with Allergies, and now I can only use completely Unscented Items (with the exception of Citrus, which I’m still Okay with!). This site has all sorts of useful products for folks like me!

When we first got Tia (our wee dog), I had a really bad allergic reaction to her, but we all loved her sooo much, I went in search of a product that might help, and I found one — Allerpet/d (Allerpet, Inc., Farnam Pet Products). You just rub it on your pet (cover all the fur…) and any ‘pet smell’ disappears. The bizarre thing is that we only had to do it a number of times over the first two years, then rarely after that…this stuff really works!

Hair Tip: One of the best Hair Conditioners that I’ve tried over the years is straight Olive Oil. I have really long, and some might say, crazy hair, so this works well for taming crazy hair — or just making regular hair nice and smooth!

Pour some Olive Oil into a water bottle with a flip-up top. It’s just easier to deal with, that way… and you can leave whatever you don’t use right in the bathroom. Anyway, put a towel around your shoulders and pour the Olive Oil right on the ends of your hair and work it in until it’s saturated. I never do the top of my hair, since it seems fine on it’s own.

If you are lucky enough to live in a Hot Climate, pop out into the sun to let the oil work itself into your hair, otherwise, just go spend some time on the computer or reading while your hair has a nice wee ‘Oil Soak’ I usually leave it on for about an hour.

Wash it out with a fair bit of shampoo, then follow with your usual Conditioner. Watch you step, though, since the oil can be slippy when you’re washing your hair. This is when you might want to rethink your earlier plan to drink your way through the hour wait… ya’ha,ha!

This makes my hair extremely curly, for some reason or another… makes it look like I’ve got no life whatsoever and have been sitting curling my hair into ringlets all day… which I swear, although I hardly do have any sort of Life, I can’t be bothered with that amount of work on my hair. I am willing to comb it, though, which I do right after the treatment, then whenever else I happen to remember. That’s the level of special care I allot to ‘Fancy Grooming’!

Anyway, this really works, and it’s very inexpensive. And you can use the rest of the Olive Oil with a wee bit of vinegar and some spices for a lovely Marinade for the met you might have for dinner! See how practical?

Bikram Yoga After Pregnancy For Weight Loss

The end of pregnancy marks the beginning of a joyous little bundle in the new mom’s life, but at the same time, it can be mentally stressful and taxing as well, especially for first time moms. In addition it leaves behind the undesirable excess weight that was packed on during the nine months of wait for the precious baby. So all health conscious moms turn to strict exercise programs to shed the extra pounds as dieting during breast feeding is not possible and recommended. Bikram yoga offers a great way to get back in shape physically and reduce stress levels post pregnancy.

Although Bikram is not suitable to practice during pregnancy; it can do wonders for the yogi post partum. Conducted in a highly heated room of about temperatures between 95 to 100 degrees; Bikram helps to remove toxins from the body and the high heat causes excessive sweating in turn forcing the body to burn more calories. The strenuous stretching postures are made easy with the heat allowing the yogi to achieve increased flexibility, in turn producing a healthier and toner body.

Women are able to reap benefits from Bikram as it provided with the weight loss without over exerting the body. The postures of hot yoga are not excessively difficult especially for women who have practiced yoga before and during pregnancy. New moms can start Bikram yoga as soon as their medical practitioner approves, sometimes within 2 weeks after giving birth, as it does not involve any intense aerobic or cardio exercises.

The other great advantage of Bikram after pregnancy is the decrease in high mental and physical stress levels that it provides. Yoga promotes a sense of calm for the mind and spirit, but Bikram goes a step further in assisting with the elimination of the physical stress that the woman’s body goes through during childbirth. The muscles are able to reach their full stretching capacity in the hot rooms allowing improved blood circulation and increased oxygen flow through the body. This results in the entire body regaining health to its pre pregnancy vitality.

It is important to keep yourself highly hydrated though, as the high heat can cause severe dehydration if proper care is not taken.
